Hansa-Brandenburg C.I

role : multi role combat aircraft

first flight : operational : April 1916

country : Austria

design : Ernst Heinkel

production : 1318 aircraft built by Brandenburg(84), Phonix(400) and Ufag(834) and in

Austria

general information : The C.I (type LDD) entered service spring 1916 and was used by

the Austro-Hungarian air force for reconnaissance, artillery-observation and as light bomber till the end of WW1. At first it was only armed with a moveable machine gun for the observer but on later production aircraft an synchronized machine gun was installed in the nose of the aircraft. The C.I was loved by it’s crew for its ease of handling and due to installation of more powerful engines the aircraft kept good performance in time. Also it had good landing and TO qualities.
